“He was my drug. Bold. Intoxicating. Addictive.”
Wow what an engaging, fast paced and intriguing story. “Wednesday” was a short novella, but was still packed full of drama, intrigue, charm and steam. Kendall Ryan certainly knows how to achieve something powerful and strong in only a short amount of pages.
“Wednesday” is a “friends to lovers” story between Shaw, who was grieving the loss of his wife and Chloe, wfho has been in love with Shaw her whole life. They’ve grown up together and been the best of friends.
“I used her to chase away the darkness. To forget the pain and regrets and guilt that swam, unchecked, inside me. And worse than that? I had no plans to stop.”
During the funeral of Shaw’s wife, Chloe allows him to use her for sex in a way to comfort and support him in the only way she knows how. She was such a strong and powerful woman and I don’t want to give too much away, because this story is definitely worth the read.
“He’s filled with turmoil and heartache and regrets, but for two hours every Wednesday all he feels is me.”
While reading this novella it begged the question “How far would you go to support your best friend?” and Chloe goes above and beyond to support her best friend and there is nothing she would not do for Shaw.
“In twenty five years he’d never laid a finger on me, never acted like I affected him at all. We’d practiced kissing when I was twelve, but that was so innocent compared to this.”
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a quick smutty fix, with a lot of hot steamy scenes and a beautiful story, with incredible character development. It was such a captivating, heart-warming story that made me feel all warm and fuzzy at the end.
