Damn….I just need to take a minute.
I’m literally sat here thinking about what I can write in this review without giving too much away, because there are so many events in this book that I want to mention but I know that my ramblings would spoil your experience reading this amazing duet by author Natasha Knight.
Torn is book 2 in the Dark Legacy duet and must not, I repeat must not be read until you have picked up read Taken, book 1. This duet is probably one of the best dark romance duet I have read in a very long time. Each book can push some boundaries and may leave you feeling hot and sweaty!
This story picks up right where we are left in Taken and we get to experience the growth in our main characters Sebastian and Helena relationship as they battle family expectations and century old traditions.
While we see Sebastian and Helena’s characters evolve, we also see a secondary character take centre stage, Sebastian’s brother Gregory. We met Gregory in Taken and while he played a key part in the first book, it is in this book that we learn more about Gregory and all I can say is that he needs his own story as I am sure there is more to this character.
I have to say that this book was a little different in comparison to the first book, without giving too much away, the heat in has been turned up from hot to smoking hot (I may have had to take a break or two). These characters have the best chemistry that I have read in a long time and the added element that I am not going to give away certainly helps to increase the steaminess of this book.
This duet is so well written that each book was able to keep me hooked and excited to see where this author takes the storyline and characters. The storyline was so compelling and different to anything I have read in a long that I found myself staying up late to finish each book, of course this left me with a serious book hangover, but it was so worth it.
Natasha Knight has always been one of my go to authors for dark romance, especially her mafia series but I am so excited to see her develop her collection in this series. I know I have probably said this before in a review, but Natasha has a way with her words that make my dark heart sing, her characters, whether female or male are always strong, relatable characters and I can’t help myself from falling love with them and the dark worlds that Natasha is able to create.
USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance, Natasha Knight specializes in dark, tortured heroes. Happily-Ever-Afters are almost always guaranteed, but she likes to put her characters through hell to get them there. She’s evil like that.
