No, part of a Duet

I’m one of four Willow daughters.
He’s the first-born son of the Scafoni family. And we have history.

For generations, the Scafoni family have demanded a sacrifice of us. A virgin daughter to atone for sins so old, we don’t even remember what they are anymore.

But when you have as much money as they do, you don’t play by the rules. You make them.

And Sebastian Scafoni makes all the rules.

The moment I saw him, I knew he would choose me. Even though the mark on my sheath declared me unclean. Even though my beautiful sisters stood beside me, offered to him, he still chose me.

He made me his.
And then he set out to break me.

Note: Taken is book one of the Dark Legacy Duet.

Tracey’s Review

There are a few authors that I always recommend to friends and family, Natasha Knight is always my go to author for dark and twisted romances. With Taken, Natasha has certainly found the dark side. This book had me hooked from the very first page and left me shouting WTF, WTF when I got to the cliffhanger, yep it has a cliffhanger!!

Taken focus on a centuries old tradition between two families, the Scafoni and Willows. To repay a debt, every generation of a Willow girl from a quadruplet are put on display once they reach 21 years old for the eldest son from the Scafoni family to choose from. Once chosen, the Willow girl is taken as a sex slave and passed around to each Scafoni brother before she can return to her family. (How dark does this book sound)

Now, I know if I was the chosen Willow girl, I wouldn’t go so easily and Helena, our heroine is not going to go down without a fight. A girl after my own heart. She is one hell of a feisty woman. From the first meeting, I adored Helena’s strength and disregard for any consequences. She wasn’t shy from speaking her mind and although she was such a strong character, in the moments were we as readers saw her vulnerability, you realised just how much trouble this character really was in.

On the other hand, Sebastian, our anti-hero, is a character that your either going to love or hate and or me I always have a soft spot for the dark and twisted anti-hero. He has this aura of mystery that always left me second guessing his motifs and character. At times you see this evil, sick sadistic jerk but then we get to see this gentleness when he is often with Helena. This character certainly played with my emotions the most, as I honestly don’t know whether to trust him or not.

Even with both characters in conflict, theses characters offer us some seriously dark and dirty sex scenes. No matter how hard these characters fight, they can’t out run their chemistry.

In each book that I have read from Natasha, I have realised that she has a way with words that allows this reader to be sucked into her worlds. Worlds that can often push boundaries and make me as a reader question my reasonings and feelings. I am always excited to see where this author take her readers and I always know that no matter how dark or twisted her worlds become, I will always be a follower.

Ultimately, I loved this book. I am on tender hooks for Torn, part 2 in this duet. If it is anything like Taken, I know I will be shocked with what is to come.

USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance, Natasha Knight specializes in dark, tortured heroes. Happily-Ever-Afters are almost always guaranteed, but she likes to put her characters through hell to get them there. She’s evil like that.
