Choose the one guy you can’t have . . .

As captain of a San Francisco Bay tour boat, Pru can handle rough seas—the hard part is life on dry land. Pru loves her new apartment and her neighbors; problem is, she’s in danger of stumbling into love with Mr. Right for Anybody But Her.

Fall for him—hard . . .

Pub owner Finn O’Riley is six-foot-plus of hard-working hottie who always makes time for his friends. When Pru becomes one of them, she discovers how amazing it feels to be on the receiving end of that deep green gaze. But when a freak accident involving darts (don’t ask) leads to shirtless first aid, things rush way past the friend zone. Fast.

And then tell him the truth.

Pru only wants Finn to be happy; it’s what she wishes for at the historic fountain that’s supposed to grant her heart’s desire. But wanting him for herself is a different story—because Pru’s been keeping a secret that could change everything. . . .

NANCY’s review

Sweet Little Lies is the first book in the Heartbreaker Bay series. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and after reading a couple of pages, I was hooked.

Pru is feeling a lot of guilt about something that isn’t her fault. But she is so selfless and has such a huge heart, that all she wants to do is help those around her. One of the people she wants to help the most is the hot bar owner, Finn. Pru knows she has no business feelings things for Finn because of the secret she is keeping from him. The more time they spend together, the harder it gets for Pru to keep her feelings at bay.

Like I said before, Pru is completely selfless. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She’s a complete sweetheart with an easy going attitude. She does her best to get Finn to have some fun and find happiness. After all, she is known as the fun whisperer.

Finn was a lovely hero. He was this sexy alpha man with a sweet side. He wanted more with Pru, so he went for it. I loved how he was always honest about his feelings. Their relationship progressed nicely, and the sexy times were hotttt.

He’d known they had something but this . . . this rocked his world. Hers too because they both melted into it, tongues sliding, lips melding, bodies arching into each other in a slow rhythm.

This story was light on angst and drama but had some emotion added to it. I completely fell in love with the secondary characters. I need more of them! They made the story so much more fun. I’ll just sit here, while impatiently waiting for the second book.

If you love a warm, funny, and sweet contemporary romance, look no further. Jill Shalvis will have you falling in love with her new installment.
