NANCY’s review (guest blogger)
“I can’t dance this close to the fire and not get burned. And he’s all flame, a raging inferno that makes my skin heat and heart race.”
Brady‘s life changes when he receives the devastating news that his younger brother and wife died in a terrible car accident. Now, Brady is having to head to Texas to handle his brothers affairs. When he arrives, he doesn’t expect to get sole custody of his one year old niece. He also doesn’t expect to be attracted to Katherine.
Katherine is heartbroken about losing the only close friends she had. She carries some guilt about their deaths. Kat knew that the baby’s uncle was to arrive, but she didn’t expect him to be all big and tatted. The opposite of his brother. And she can’t help that she’s attracted to him too.
Kat and Brady immediately become friends. Kat tries to make things easier, helping Brady with his responsibilities. Especially on how to care for his niece, Isabella.
As Brady and Kat get closer, their attraction for one another grows. When they finally give in to their desires they both agree it can’t mean anything more. But you can’t help who you fall in love with.
“I promise him it won’t mean anything, that I won’t fall in love.
I shouldn’t make promises I can’t keep.”
I liked the slow build up in their relationship. I adored both characters. And how hardworking they were. And who doesn’t like a hot, tattooed guy with a baby? Yes, please! Brady will make you swoon, I promise!
“When I glance up, Brady brushes a wisp of hair out of the baby’s eyes and kisses her forehead, and I swear my ovaries throb. On one hand, Brady is gruff and rough around the edges, and on the other, there’s a tenderness about him that screams husband material.”
Katherine was independent, caring, and a very hard worker. She never complained about anything. She was witty and sassy. Exactly how I like my heroines to be.
This book was well written. It was emotional with its heartfelt moments. I very much enjoyed this sweet story.
