I loved him before I knew what the word meant.
From skinned knees to first dates and everything in between.
But he was never mine to love.
I settled for friendship, even though I always wanted more.

That was before.
Before he ripped my world apart and didn’t bother sticking around to help me pick up the pieces.
I knit every last shred back together all on my own.
And I’ve all but forgotten his name.

Now, he’s back, and everything is torn apart once more.
But he’s not the only one doing the tearing this time.
And there might be no stopping the person who has it out for us both.

Tracey’s Review

I am always amazed at the worlds and characters that Catherine Cowles creates, which says a lot for the author, seeing as Reckless Memories is only her sixth book.

Reckless Memories is the first book in her new series, Wrecked and what a book to kick the series off with! This story will grip your heart from the first page and won’t let go until the last full stop! It’s a story filled with heart break, redemption, forgiveness and love.

Following the journey of Bell and Ford we witness how their best friend relationship turns into the love that we all would love to have with a forever partner. Now, don’t get me wrong, their journey isn’t filled with all the small town romances you may expect instead it’s a love story filled with longing, the need for forgiveness and a touch of suspense. See, not your typical small town romance.

I instantly fell in love with our main characters! Bell’s strength and her determination to staying true to who she is, while feeling the pressures of her family to conform to their expectations, shows how strong and independent this kick ass heroine is.

For me, it was the evolution of Ford’s character that had me constantly gripped, his character is suffocating from the grief he carries and the realisation that he let his loved ones down but his redemption is what makes this man who he is, his passion to make things right and his willingness to make the changes needed to ensure his promises are followed through. He was the perfect compliment to Bell’s character.

Ultimately this is a slow burning romance, filled with suspense and angst, just as you would expect from Catherine. I would highly recommend this amazing book to everyone who asked me for a small town romance with a twist. I, for one can’t wait for the next book in this series!
