Fiction, M/M Romance
May 16, 2014

How do you love someone who exists entirely in the shadows? How do you love a man who describes himself as dead? How do you get that ghost to love you back? Ex-SAS soldier Ben Rider falls in love with his enigmatic married boss Sir Nikolas Mikkelsen, but Nikolas is living a lie. A lie so profound that when the shadows are lifted, Ben realises he's in love with a very dangerous stranger. Ben has to choose between Nikolas and safety, but sometimes danger comes in a very seductive package.
Val’s Review
This was insanely good.
Seriously, outstanding.
It’s not everyday that you score like this and get the sometimes elusive trifecta of great writing, a solid plot and fleshed out characters ALL IN ONE BOOK.
Crazy, I know.
Plus, I have read a lot of m/m, a lot of military, and a lot of mystery/thrillers in my time …and let me tell you, John Wiltshire took my expectations for this this book and said, “Pffft.”
Benjamin and Nikolas are such great, interesting characters. They have both been through A LOT in their lives and overcome – or emotionally buried – a great deal of tragic experiences.
Not to mention they are just plain dead sexy. Their chemistry was palpable.
I loved their constant byplay and repartee.
Honestly, when I die, I want to be reincarnated as a saucy aristocrat with a bitchin’ European accent.
Plus, as I mentioned earlier, I loved Wiltshire’s writing style and his dry, sarcastic, deadpan delivery of humor throughout.
I have already started number two.
