Dashiell Thane wasn’t a nice guy.
He was an abrasive, demanding, conniving, intolerable brat.
Yet somehow, we’d been best friends our whole lives.
Until our senior year when I finally decided to dip my toes into the dating pool.

All it took was one kiss for jealousy, lies, and betrayal to sweep in and propel us heart first into dizzying, hostile depths.

You’re not supposed to kiss your best friend.
You’re definitely not supposed to kiss your best friend while you’re dating someone else.
And the absolute worst thing you could do is fall for your best friend.
Unless, of course, you want to ruin everything.

Megan’s Review

“The absolute worst thing you could do is fall for your best friend. Unless, of course, you want to ruin everything.”

Ella Fields has once again produced an outstanding and highly addictive read. I absolutely love a great friends-to-lovers story and to be honest, it is probably my favorite trope; I can’t get enough of the anticipation of friends turning into so much more. Kiss and Break up is the quintessential angsty coming of age story that was written to perfection and took me on a journey all the way back to High School.

If you want to swoon beyond all belief by the ultimate charming bad boy, with a smart mouth and attitude to boot, then Dash is your man. He was all those things and so much more. He was the typical bad boy you hate to love, but you just can’t help yourself, because he just reels you in hook, line and sinker.

“Dashiell Thane had been my best friend for as long as I could remember. He wouldn’t have been my first choice, but then again, since he learned how to talk and use his words and that scowl as a weapon, I never really had a choice.”

Peggy is the beautiful and smart life-long best friend of Dash, whether she likes it or not. They’ve known each other since birth and as Dash is quite demanding, he pushes his way into her life and insists they be the best of friends. Dash has always been like a brother to Peggy, but soon things begin to change and the true protective Dash emerges from the shadows. As Peggy begins to mature she decides it’s time to start experiencing what life has to offer and that includes dating. Then one kiss between Peggy and Dash changes everything.

I utterly adored this story from start to finish and it positively consumed me. I just could not stop reading it even if I wanted to. I was surprised by how deeply I felt this story and I was unprepared for the chord it struck within my heart. I really fell for both Dash and Peggy and believed I was on this journey along-side them. This all-consuming epic read is a definite favorite of mine and if you love your friends-to-lovers romances, then this is a must read. I have no doubt Dash will positively melt your heart.
