I fell in love with this duet after reading the first book, Discreet. But for some reason this book just didn’t touch me in the way that the first book did.
So many things happened in the book, that I think it lost its way a little. While I still read the book to find out how this couple overcome so many obstacles, it just didn’t capture my interest as much as the first book did.
While I felt this story overwhelmed me, I did still feel the connection with the characters that I developed in the first book. I enjoyed reading how their relationship evolved and how they still managed to love one another in a world full of hateful people.
Overall, this book for me was a bit off a disappointment, but I have read the authors work before, so I know this is a one of for me.
About the Author
Nicole French is an East Coast/West Coast hybrid creature, Springsteen fanatic, hopeless romantic, and total bookworm. When not writing fiction or teaching writing classes, she is hanging out with her family, playing soccer with the rest of the thirty-plus crowd in Seattle, or going on dates with her husband. In her spare time, she likes to go running with her dog, Greta, or practice the piano, but never seems to do either one of these things as much as she should.
