“You’re everything that I want, and everything I need. You already have my heart, and I don’t want it back. You understand?”
It’s no secret that I love Sarina Bowen and the Brooklyn Bruisers series. Every once in awhile I like to read a book that has little drama and angst and focuses only on the couple. Whenever I’m in the mood for that I go with a Sarina Bowen book, because her type of heroes are always sweet and swoon-worthy.
While Hard Hitter can easily be read as a standalone I still recommend the first book as well, just because it was as sweet and this one.
Patrick O’Doul is the team captain for the Brooklyn Bruisers. He doesn’t like to be touched and that has to do with what happened in his past when he was young. When Patrick is told he has to start going to see Ariana, the team’s massage therapists and yoga instructor, he isn’t happy about it.
At first, it isn’t easy for Patrick to let Ariana touch him. Slowly but surely he lets his guard down around her. Soon he is no longer worried whenever she is around or touching him. He finds that he likes her touch a lot.
He didn’t like to be touched. But he kissed like he was starving for it.
Ariana’s last relationship didn’t end so well so she isn’t looking for a man anytime soon, but the sweet and sexy Patrick makes it difficult to stick to her plan. Will Ariana think he is worth the risk?
“I’m trying not to scare you, sweetheart. But you’re it for me. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t give you, or do for you.”
Needless to say I adored this one so much and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. This is a series I recommend if you want to read something that is light on angst and drama and high on love and sweetness!
