Four Day Fling Book Cover Four Day Fling

Fiction, Contemporary Romance
July 24th, 2018

A standalone romantic comedy of epically awkward proportions, from New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart.

Imagine this. You’re ready to leave after a one-night stand, and you’re figuring out how to—shock horror—leave your number and ask him to be your fake boyfriend for your sister’s wedding this weekend. When he wakes up. Well, that happened to me. And over coffee and omelets, I found myself a date.

Which was how I ended up arriving at the wedding with a guy I knew nothing about. I didn’t know his last name, or how we met, or how long we’d been dating. I didn’t know where he grew up, what he’d majored in in college, or how many siblings he had. I sure as hell didn’t know he was Adam Winters, hotshot hockey player—and not only my father’s favorite player, but my little nephew’s freakin’ idol. Which means I’m in trouble. Big, big trouble. My mother is suspicious, my sister is bridezilla on crack, and my grandpa will tell anyone who’ll listen about his time in Amsterdam’s Red Light District. Four days. I have to keep this up for four days, and then Adam and I can return to our regular lives, where we don’t have sex whenever we’re alone and my family aren’t interrogating him over his intentions with me.

At least, that’s the plan. And we all know what happens to those.

Megan’s Review

I was super excited to read Four Day Fling by Emma Hart, plus I absolutely loved the cover. I must admit, I do have a thing for red heads, so this story definitely drew me in from the get go. I was searching for the ultimate romcom to read. All I craved was something sweet, fun, flirty and sexy to draw me in and get me hooked. Four Day Fling was simply one of those books that is an absolute joy to read and leaves you with a smile on your face. It certainly did deliver on everything I was searching for.

Poppy is in the ultimate predicament. Not only is it bad enough that she has to spend four days with her family, who are quite possibly crazy (especially her mother), but her sister’s getting married and Poppy is in desperate need for a date to the four-day wedding from hell. After waking up next to her one night stand she believes she has found the solution to her problem; the date she so desperately needs. Poppy is not above begging and pleading for this sexy stranger to be her fake boyfriend for four days.

Adam agrees to be Poppy’s fake boyfriend during the four-day wedding vacation, but has no idea at the time what he has gotten himself into. Clearly not a sporting fan, Poppy has no idea who Adam is, that is, until she introduces him to her family as her boyfriend. Her family knows who this sporting superstar is and to say they are massive fans is an understatement.

I absolutely adored Poppy, she just made this read so much fun for me. She’s a total badass; positively crazy, batty and a fierce red head to boot. She always says it like it is, never sugar-coats any situation and is totally fearless to a fault. All the craziness that is Poppy made me laugh out loud so much and I just loved her outspoken persona.

Adam was awesome, the complete package. He’s so adorable, sweet, laid back and ever so cool as a cucumber. He is a hockey superstar and would love nothing more than for someone to love him for the person he is, not for the money, for the fame or the adoring fans. I just could not get enough of sexy Adam and wanted more, so much more. He is a hero that will positively make you swoon.

“God he was beautiful. I’ll-chisel-you-into-marble kinda beautiful. The kind of beautiful that should be displayed in museums for years to come. In a hundred years, people would marvel at the statue of him the way we did the Mona Lisa today.”

The sexual tension and chemistry was off the scales hot and even though both Poppy and Adam were two completely different people, they just worked. They were the in truest sense, opposites who were attracted to each other in the absolute hottest way.

While Four Day Fling is not the most original idea, Emma Hart did an amazing job writing a story that pulled me in from the get go and was simply a joy to read. Her writing and storytelling drew me in and kept me fully engaged throughout. I loved the characters and everything they brought to the story, the crazy family drama and of course the romance. If you are after your next read to be so much fun that you’ll finish the book with a gigantic smile on your face, then look no further than Four Day Fling to satisfy your romcom cravings. I have a feeling Adam will be melting many hearts around the world.
