Turbulence by Whitney G. (Arianna)

ARIANNA’s review

description

If you love forbidden love stories as much as I do, then you don’t want to miss this one! Whitney G. delivered an intense, steamy and also a little emotional at times story that kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time for one reason or another. The story was well written and really gripping from start to finish and features two well portrayed characters that entertained me in many ways until the end.

“You don’t need to like me to fuck me,” he said. “You just need to like fucking me.” He stepped closer, letting his forehead touch mine. “And from the way you still come every time we meet up, it’s clear you still like that.”

As the youngest of five, noting Gillian ever did quite measured up to those who came before her. When she moves to New York she’s determined to do anything to prove everyone that she can be successful in something…anything. To afford living in the Big City she works two jobs – as an executive housekeeper and as a flight attendant. Everything changes for Gillian when she meets Jake who it happens to work as a pilot for the same company as her. What starts as a hot one-night-stand becomes something more when they decide to get involved in a no strings attached relationship that slowly, but surely becomes very torrid and tumultuous.

“I won’t be the guy you think you can call when you need to talk to someone. Unless it’s about how wet your pussy is, I don’t want your name on my call log, and I don’t need you thinking we’ll ever be friends.”

Surprisingly I wasn’t intrigued by the forbidden aspect as I had expected to be. Maybe because it wasn’t forbidden…forbidden if you know what I mean. Overall I found this story to be fun, really steamy and entertaining until the end. First and foremost, I want to say I absolutely loved the way these two characters met. So original and so delightful!

Both main characters were well portrayed and likeable in some way or another. Gillian was a fun heroine I’m pretty sure many readers will relate with. I loved her strength, her loyalty and of course her smart-a$$ mouth. If you love your heroes to be cocky a$$holes, then I guarantee you will love Jake. Jake was arrogant, very candid at times and very infuriating other times. I admit he got on my nerves one time or two, but overall I found his character to be quite intriguing, fun and very entertaining. I also loved the fact that he stays true to his character, so his redemption wasn’t in any way OTT.

Like I mentioned above the story was very steamy. There are many sexy scenes between these two, all of them hot as f@ck and well written that I’m sure will leave most readers hot and bothered. What I would have changed about these two characters’ relationship development is the back and forth between them. As much as I love it…usually, I have to say here was a little too much.

The angst wasn’t so bad, maybe because it was that kind of angst I enjoy or maybe because it wasn’t so heavy. As for the supporting characters…OMG, almost all of them were a$$holes. Too many of them. I wanted to punch them in the face repeatedly!

Overall, a great, engaging read!
