DEVIL'S NIGHT is returning! Hiding places, chases, and all the games are back...

Buried in the shadows of the city, there’s a hotel called The Pope. Ailing, empty, and dark—it sits abandoned and surrounded by a forgotten mystery.

But you think it’s true, don’t you, Kai Mori? The story about the hidden twelfth floor. The mystery of the dark guest who never checked in and never checks out. You think I can help you find that secret hideaway and get to him, don’t you?

You and your friends can try to scare me. You can try to push me. Because even though I struggle to hide everything I feel when you look at me—and have ever since I was a girl—I still know that what you seek is so much closer than you’ll ever realize.

I will never betray him.

So sit tight.

On Devil’s Night, the hunt will be coming to you.

You have no idea what I seek, Little One. You don’t know what I had to become to survive three years in prison for a crime I would gladly commit again.

No one can know what I’ve turned into.

I want that hotel, I want to find him, and I want this over.

I want my life back.

But the more I’m around you, the more I realize this new me is exactly who I was meant to be.

So come on, kid. Don’t chicken out. My house is on the hill. So many ways in, and good luck finding your way out.

I’ve seen your hideaway. Time to see mine.

*Hideaway is a romantic suspense suitable for ages 18+. While the romance is a stand-alone, the plot is a continuation of events that began in CORRUPT (Devil's Night #1). It is strongly recommended that you have read Corrupt prior to reading this.

Megan’s Review

I made it a point of mine to make sure I read Hideaway before the year was up, and I’m so glad I did. I have no idea why it took me so long to read this one, it was on my TBR list for months, but better late than never, right? I am loving this Devils Night series so far and Kai was such an intriguing character for me in Corrupt. To date, he is my favorite character and definitely has the dark and disturbed traits down.

Each and every one of the horsemen has a deep, dark and disturbed story to tell, and this is Kai’s story in all its glory. Kai loves his secrets, he thrives on them and also the fact that no one, not even his friends knows everything he is hiding. As much fun as it is hiding secrets from the world, it’s become a very lonely world for our Kai; that is the risk you take when you keep too many secrets and close yourself off. It may be fun, but it’s also makes for a somewhat lonely existence.

“Rain was like night. You could be different in the dark and under the clouds.”

Banks is an amazing heroine in my opinion; she is strong yet loveable, fierce yet kind. She is definitely headstrong, yet has a real soft side to her. She has absolutely no issue standing up for herself and what is important to her… let’s just say she also has no problem standing up to Kai and playing him at his own game.

On a scale of one to hot, Hideaway was definitely hot. I thought my kindle was going to spontaneously combust at some stages of the book, but don’t worry, it didn’t, so all is good. Although there was definite steam, it was also dark and suspenseful and kept me fully invested, engaged and guessing throughout. I loved both Banks and Kai and how they challenged and tested each other throughout.

I always worry when I overhype a book in my mind because sometimes it doesn’t live up to my high expectations, but I’m so happy because Hideaway absolutely lived up to what I was looking for. Although Hideaway is technically a standalone I would advise reading Corrupt first, as Hideaway picks up where Corrupt left off and you may get lost in the story. If you are a fan of dark and intriguing stories with hot and steamy scenes thrown in for good measure then I suggest one clicking this, because I have no doubt you will love everything that is Kai.
