fin de journée—End of Day.
I’m sure that are far better reviews out there about how awesome this book is. So my review is basically going to be me gushing about how much I loved this! Just letting ya know, because I don’t want to bore anyone to death.
This is why I am so happy that I joined GR a long time ago. I get to discover awesome books and authors with the help of my awesome GR friends!
I have found another new favorite author! And a new favorite series that I highly recommend. I honesty didn’t think this book would be funny, but boy, was it funny! I laughed out loud so many times, I would re-read a sentence just to laugh some more.
I loved Jackson and Jillian’s relationship and the strong sister/brother bond they had. Even when they fought—like literally! They would kick the shit out of each other. They were such complex characters, but I wouldn’t want it any other way.
I had all these questions… Like why did the siblings have to pretend that they were dead? Why did they have to leave to start a new life and change their names? SO MANY QUESTIONS!
And OMG, don’t get me started on Luke! *le sigh* I LOVED reading about Jillian’s past with him. I think everyone needs a Luke in their life.
“You took everything. I never had a choice. You tore into my life … into my heart, wrecking all sense of the man I was before you. Being with you is the best part of my day … every day. You think you’re broken, but you’re not. And if you were … it wouldn’t matter. I love every. Single. Piece of you.”
I seriously could go on forever, but I’ll just stop here and say that if you have not read this series yet, YOU NEED TO GET TO IT!
